Central Coast Speed Skaters
I have started a new page for all the speed skaters on the Central Coast NSW. I have done this mostly to save myself some time as I can put all the relevant info I need to share with my local skaters on the one page and get them to chase it up!
You are all welcome to browse and comment but authorship is restricted to the Erina skaters. If you are an Erina skater or parent email me and I'll add you to the authors list.

Short Track Feeds
![]()
Hi all...
In case you haven't noticed by now one of the new features of this page is the RSS feeds on the left hand column. For those of you uninitiated, RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication' and is a web feature that allows you to keep up to date with websites without having to check them for new information. Whenever something new is posted or added to a website with RSS, whoever has subscribed to that site's feed gets the new information delivered effectively to their door (or email program, or website...).
At the moment I have added feeds from the pages I like to follow, namely: Ohnozone, World Masters Short Track, PATINAGE DE VITESSE - COURTE PISTE, and ZATAOSS.
Now you can just come here to shorttrackaustralia.com to follow all these speed skating sites without having to log in to them separately. If anyone has any suggestions for other sites that might be worthwhile syndicating, let me know.

Raising Money For Junior Worlds
Wow... another post! When it rains it pours huh?
In my incoherent ponderings I have come up with an idea to start and ebay auction based blogsite to raise money to help our Juniors get overseas. I have some Olympic memorabilia, old equipment etc that may be of some value to skaters locally or even internationally and so do a few others out there in short track land that could be donated to raise money for our Junior National Team.
After the site is set up it would probably take a couple of people to run it - it wouldn't be a busy site, it would need someone to handle any money that was raised and keep everything open and accountable. CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!
Let me know if this is a good (and indeed viable) idea and if you would like to help in any way.

Open Blogging
Well, I've had a brief look around on blogger to find out how to open this thing up for everyone to post but it seems that it isn't possible. Before you get ahead of me, I realise that I can open up the 'Comments' section so that anyone can comment but this still limits the topics (theoretically) that people can talk about to the topics that I (or one of the other registered authors) has posted on.
What I want to do is allow everyone to post so that the topics aren't limited to those of my choosing. If anyone out there knows any code or other inter-ma-net trick that will allow me to do this email me on ajmcnee@gmail.com or comment on this post.

Getting back into it
Hi all,
Sorry for the complete and utter lack of movement on this page for a few months! I have been busy - really busy - studying, working, training, coaching, helping old ladies across the street, sponsoring children and volunteer fire fighting. Ok, ok... you've got me - I've only been pretending to study.
We are nearing the National Championships that are at Sydney Ice Arena on the 3rd and 4th of October (for those of you who are under a rock) and then the international season gets underway almost immediately. This year promises to be a very interesting year both domestically and internationally so keep your eyes glued to this page!!!
I am also trying to figure out how to open this page completely up so anyone can post here too... If only I understood this inter-ma-net thingie better.
More Soon!!!!!
Andrew
